How AAVs work

How AAVs Work

The Air Admittance Valves (AAVs) open and admit fresh air when negative pressure occurs from fixture discharge.
This equalizes pressure within the system and so protects the trap seals. When the flow stops, the valve closes and seals tight by gravity, preventing any transmission of foul air out through the device and trap seals.
