26 October 2012, Melbourne - Australia

26 October 2012, Melbourne - Australia Studor Australia’s V8 Race Day took place with 20 plumbers and designers joining Marc Williams and Michael Mekhitarian at Sandown Raceway (home of the recent Sandown 500)for a day of high octane excitement. A marketing exercise with a difference, the day started with a light BBQ lunch in the pit garages followed by a track and safety briefing, after which the participants were strapped into a race-prepared 5.0 litre V8 Supercar with a professional co-driver/coach and let loose to drive 5 laps on this historic circuit. With an output of around 635 hp and 0-100kph time of 3.8 seconds, these cars were a thrill drive for everyone. Melbourne turned on its usual “4 seasons in one day”, with patches of rain in-between periods of bright sunshine which added to the realism of the event. At the end of the day awards were presented to a number of drivers for “style” rather than speed. The day was all about mixing current and past users of the Studor Single Pipe System (SSPS) with potential clients to discuss the advantages and benefits of the Studor P.A.P.A. and AAVs. As a memento of the day, participants left with a Studor gift bag containing a Studor V8 Race Day cap and other goodies. Not surprisingly, interest was high in making this an annual event!
